On June 21, 2025, A Better Life Foundation launched a new initiative aimed at reconnecting urban Indigenous youth with their cultural roots through food.
Recognizing that language, history, and traditions can sometimes feel distant, we are leveraging food, a universal access point, to spark interest and rebuild cultural ties.
The Indigenous Meal Program was inspired and is championed by Steven Stark, a member of Tsawwassen First Nation and director on ABLF’s board. We believe in the power of food as a conduit of love and connection. We’re providing culturally relevant meals to young, urban indigenous families with the intention of sparking and promoting connection to culture.
These meals are delicious sources of sustenance and nutrition as well as serving as a tool of culturalreclamation and reinforcing identity and belonging.
